Herman Sarkowsky. This portrait of Herman Sarkowsky was taken in his Federal Way office on March 15, 1971. Mr. Sarkowsky is seated behind his desk; a picture of his family and a framed proclamation of his Life Directorship in the National Association of Home Builders in the United States hang on the wood paneled wall behind him. He owned United Homes, one of the area's largest home builders, and would later became a partner in the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers. Born in Germany, Mr. Sarkowsky graduated from the University of Washington. He would later serve on the Board of Regents for both the school and University of Washington Hospital.
