Some Tacoma residential and commercial buildings had their windows broken and chimneys knocked off. The recently finished Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company building had many of their windows broken during the earthquake. View of the Abraham Rose Credit Jewelry store clock, located at 1328 Pacific Avenue in downtown Tacoma; the clock was damaged by the April 13, 1949 earthquake (T.N.T., 4/14/49, p. 1 & 2). TPL-2528
