ca. 1956. 1956 Woodbrook Horse Show. The annual spring horse show would be held May 19-20 at the Woodbrook Stables, the Northwest's largest covered arena. A woman in Arabian garb puts her stallion through his paces at the Horse Show. The pair are competing in the Arabian mounted, native costume. The show was open to public and viewers could thrill to some of the finest horses and riders in the Northwest. (TNT 5/6/1956, pg. D-1)

ca. 1956. The annual Woodbrook spring horse show was held May 19 & 20th, 1956, at the Woodbrook Stables, the Northwest's largest covered arena. Intermission entertainment included female members of the club modelling fashions of interest to the modern horse woman. They included English and Western riding attire, square dance outfits and summer fashions for work and entertaining. Pictured second from left is Mrs. H.A. ca. 1955. A woman in western style riding gear sits astride a horse and is being awarded a ribbon by a woman in formal English hunt attire. Photograph ordered by the Woodbrook Hunt Club. The Woodbrook Hunt Club's 1955 Spring Horse Show was held May 21-22, 1955 in the covered arena at the Woodbrook Stables. It featured exhibitions by the Pierce County Sheriff's Posse, square dancing on horseback by the Lariettes and a style show of what the best dressed horsewoman wears for Western riding, to an English hunt or square dancing. Also featured was competition in different horseback skills and on different breeds of horses. (TNT 5/15/1955, pg. D-1& D-2)

Korny Karnival, Women of Rotary. Two of the women are dressed as scare crows with straw coming out their cuffs, and their hats. Their faces are covered with fabric so their identity is completely concealed. The man with them is one of the members of the barbershop quartet who sang that evening.

View of Master of Foxhounds Earl Craig and wife Leona. Members of the Woodbrook Hunt Club are making preparations for the start of the hunting season in early October, 1951. Earl Craig, Master of Foxhounds, steadies the ladder while his wife Leona touches the Woodbrook sign on their brand new red barn. The Woodbrook sign is made of white horseshoes. The Craigs suffered tremendous losses when Woodbrook caught fire in the summer of 1950. A small white sign warning that smoking is prohibited around the stables is a sober reminder of fire's dangers. Dr. Alexander G. Ruthven being initiated as an honorary member of the Pierce county Sheriff's mounted posse at Woodbrook Riding Academy. Dr. Ruthven, President of the University of Michigan, was visiting Tacoma and attending meetings with alumni and conferences regarding the University's program for the development of peace time uses of nuclear power.
