On January 5, 1941, the Beta Sigma Phi sorority was busy planning a semi formal dance for the following Saturday at the Bonneville Hotel. The dance was being sponsored by the inter-chapter city council of which Mrs. Charles H. Mady was president. The planning committee members were meeting at her house.
