Mayberry Motor Parts located at 1934 Market Street. Oxygen sales and service. Two men in shop testing and weighing tanks. Both Oxygen Sales & Service and Mayberry Motor Parts were located in the same building on Market St. and owned by the Mayberry family. October 7-13, 1951 was Fire Prevention Week in Tacoma and this photograph, along with A61242, image 4, was used in a full page ad promoting the goods and services of Oxygen Sales & Service Co. and advising the public on keeping safe from fires. This photograph of an unidentified driver sitting in a small Dodge delivery van outside of Oxygen Sales & Service, 1930-36 Market St., was used in a full page newspaper ad on October 9, 1951 promoting the firm's new fire extinguisher department. In 1951, October 7-13 was Fire Prevention Week and Oxygen Sales & Service wanted the public to be aware of how to prevent fire loss. Oxygen Sales would be participating in a fire fighting demonstration on October 12th at the corner of 9th & Broadway. (TNT 10-9-1951, p. 11)

Both Oxygen Sales & Service and Mayberry Motor Parts were owned and operated by the members of the Mayberry family; Roy B. Mayberry is listed as president of both companies according to the 1951 City Directory. The firms were located in what appears to be one large rectangular building on Market Street. Six employees of Oxygen Sales & Service stand by their Dodge delivery trucks outside the company's building in October, 1950. As the signs on the trucks and building indicated, Oxygen Sales & Service not only were distributors of oxygen and acetylene products but also rented and repaired equipment. The company shared a building with Mayberry Motor Parts as both were owned by members of the Mayberry family.
