Doug Anderson, "Profit Master," of the Parker Boiler Co. stands next to one of his products, the Parker Industrial Boiler, on April 26, 1969. Signage above the boiler shows the "profit unit" for Parker Boilers. The factory representative was visiting the New Era Equipment Co., 2914 So. Cushman Ave., which had been a wholesale distributor of laundry equipment and boilers for 40 years. The first Parker Industrial Boiler was designed in 1919 by the company founder, Sid E. Parker. The present company was started in 1937. Its motto, "Never a compromise for quality or safety," can be noted on the Parker Boiler advertising above. The company is still in existence in 2006 and is believed to be the largest and most successful manufacturer of packaged steam boilers in its category in the West.
