A puppet production of "Tugboat Annie & Captain Tarpenny" has captured the attention of its young audience on October 2, 1957. It was produced by the Tacoma Art League at Christ Episcopal Church, 310 No. "K" Street. Mrs. James Petrich enjoys the show along with (L-R) Randy Day, John Carver, Paul Titus, Jr., and Richie Petrich. In conjunction with the Tacoma Junior League, the puppet show will be presented once more at Jones Hall, College of Puget Sound, on October 13, 1957, to launch the 1957-58 Saturday Explorers season. "Tugboat Annie and Captain Tarpenny" was written by Helen Costello Petrich and told the tale of a race between a tugboat and the Vashon Island ferry. Rhodes Brothers was one of the first department stores in Washington state to offer an entire floor dedicated to women's fashions. In March of 1946, with springtime just around the corner, Rhodes Bros. held a fashion show at the Christ Episcopal Church at 314 No. K Street. Virginia Martin-David Howard Doud Wedding. Virginia Martha Martin stands at the altar looking radiant in her floor-length gown of rich ivory tulle with a chapel-length train encircling her, a finger tip length veil and holding a bouquet of white hyacinth blossoms and Eucharist lilies. She carried a prayer book belonging to Mrs. Wallace E. Difford. She was married to David Howard Doud Saturday evening, April 15, 1950, at Christ Episcopal Church.
