The letters on the blackboard spell out the encouraging message, "Permanent Results Involve Daily Effort." The goal of the upcoming P.R.I.D.E. Week was to re-double the efforts of staff to provide motivation and self-help to the low-income families served by the REO. The REO was an arm of the Tacoma-Pierce County Opportunity & Development, Inc., a non-profit anti-poverty agency. It had five offices with 22 employees in rural Pierce County.
