Interiors at the Puget Sound Prescription Pharmacy on 4th and South K, located in the new Puget Sound Medical Building across from Tacoma General Hospital. Photographs ordered by C.N. Lindstrom Cabinet Works. Puget Sound Pharmacy was owned by Leland Stowell, who also owned the Stowell Pharmacy at 744 Market. Stowell was a long time Tacoma druggist and a graduate of the University of Washington. Lindstrom built all of the wooden fixtures that display the various first aid items and potions sold by the pharmacy. With 1600 square feet of floor space, the drug store had plenty of room for sick room supplies, biologicals, first aid supplies, candy, sundries, baby items, cosmetics, greeting cards and a large prescription department. This was Tacoma's first drive-through pharmacy, where a customer could have a prescription filled without leaving his car. They had ample parking and also offered free delivery service.
