These women were chosen as officers of the Rebekahs, auxiliary womens' organization of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, during the Rebekahs' annual three-day session held in Tacoma in early June of 1933. From left to right are: Mrs. E.B. North of Tacoma, treasurer; Mrs. Edith Osborn of Yakima, vice-president; Mrs. Bernice Hornibrooke of Vancouver, warder; Mrs. N. M. Knoff of Seattle, secretary; and Mrs. Maude Boone of Puyallup, president of the district association. The ladies were photographed in front of the I.O.O.F. Temple at Sixth and Fawcett. About 2,500 Odd Fellows and Rebekahs had arrived in Tacoma on Saturday, June 3rd for their annual session of the grand lodge, grand encampment and Rebekah assembly. Four women wearing heavy winter coats stand at entrance to Odd Fellows Temple. They are part of the group of pioneers and others who support the construction of a highway over the old "Immigrant Trail" through the Naches Pass. The women are, left to right, Mrs. May Burglehaus and Mrs. Margaret Bow of Sumner, Mrs. Nellie DeCoursey of Puyallup and Eva Bigelow (Mrs. William P.) Bonney of Tacoma. Washington pioneers and others who have joined in the movement for the construction of a highway over the old "Immigrant Trail" through Naches Pass. Eight men, including Mr. William P. The men are, left to right, Bonney, Frank Spinning of Sumner, John Adams of Tacoma, Al Benson of Seattle, Frank Ross & George Talcott of Olympia, Leland J. Athow, Fern Hill, and D.H. White of Tacoma. The projected road would begin near the confluence of the White and Green Water Rivers on the present highway, follow an easterly line through the Pass and down the Naches River to intersect the present highway, saving about 50 miles for the traveler. They were planning a meeting, Barbara Gustavson would conduct the business portion of meeting and Doris Porter was in charge of the social hour. The Phoenix Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen celebrated their 50th Anniversary in Odd Fellows Temple. The group was organized by twenty wives, sisters and daughters of railroad men in Tacoma. Their first meeting was January 1, 1902. Pins and flowers were presented to six 40-year members and a large group received their 20-year pins. (TNT, 2/5/1952, p.5)

Governor Arthur B. Langlie, standing center front, has joined the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Tacoma for their 1951 State Convention. Governor Langlie spoke in recognition of the good works of the Odd Fellow orders in the state. Annual I.O.O.F. scholarships were presented by him to Miss Bette Jean Borell and John Harlan.
