The processional into St. Ann's Catholic Church for the Silver Jubilee celebration, a special mass honoring Rev. J.F. Milner on the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. The Most Rev. Thomas A. Connolly, the Archbishop of Seattle, will preside at the mass. The Knights of Columbus lead the processional. The mass was followed by a reception held from 2-4p.m. in the new school building. Father Milner was presented with a new automobile by the members of his parish at the reception. At 6 p.m., Father Milner hosted more than 100 priests of the archdiocese at a dinner in the parish hall. Many of the clergy were from his native Ireland and fellow students there. A special mass is celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church honoring the Rev. J. F. Milner on the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. The Most Rev. Thomas A. Connolly, Archbishop of Seattle, presided. Milner was born in Dunmanway, County Cork, and studied for the priesthood in Ireland. He was ordained All Hallows June 22, 1930 at 23 years of age. He was named pastor of St. Anns in 1943. Under his direction, many improvements were made in the church and parish hall. The new school and convent were nearing completion at the time of his Silver Jubilee. (TNT 6/25/1955, pg. 4)
