The pairs' engagement was announced at a St. Patrick's Day surprise party. The green napkins were turned over at the party to reveal the pairs' names and miniature silver bells tied with green ribbons. Pink rosebuds with Delores and Bill in gold on the ribbon were given to each guest. She was the daughter of the Mathew Hrvatins and attended Aquinas Academy. He was the son of the Vern Brouillets and attended Puyallup High and the College of Puget Sound. The couple were married August 9th, 1953 at Holy Cross.
