Two businessmen hug "Lassie" just outside her "dog house" on December 3, 1946. "Lassie" made a personal appearance to promote the opening of the film, "The Courage of Lassie," at John Hamrick's Music Box Theater. Behind them is a movie poster showing scenes from the movie and advertising that Elizabeth Taylor stars in the film. This motion picture was filmed in Chelan County, Washington.

Lassieis here to advertise that the motion picture "The Courage of Lassie" will open at the Music Box Theater in this December of 1946 photograph. One of the usherettes from the theater holds "Lassie's" leash while "Lassie" stands next to her dog house in the outside lobby of John Hamrick's Music Box Theatre. "Lassie" wears a sign, "Courage of Lassie, Music Box Now." Two unidentified businessmen stand on the other side of the dog house.

In March of 1951, Mrs. Agnes M. Kiehl was both a waitress at Don's Restaurant, 902 Broadway, and a Red Cross First Aid Instructor. A waitress during the day, this Tacoma mother spent several evenings a week instructing first aid classes under Tacoma's Civil Defense and Red Cross organizations as part of the program to instruct as many citizens as possible in emergency procedures.
