The Tacoma Chapter Inc. of the Painting and Decorating Contractors' Association was organizing a three day convention. The convention would be held in Tacoma, over 400 contractors were signed up to participate in the event. Schorn Paint manufacturers had just been admitted as an associate member of the Tacoma Chapter of Painting and Decorating Contractors of America. The Tacoma Chapter of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America was formed in 1945 and had their first meeting on June 29, 1945. They were frequently mentioned in the Tacoma Times Business and Industry section because of their outstanding fair practice pledge (T. Times, 11/17/47, p. 10).
