The L. L. Hess Furniture Company at 3830 South M Street celebrated the grand opening of their new larger store on Thursday November 18, 1948. The new building had a spacious interior, more floor space and an ultra modern setting. The L. L. Hess Company offered their customers top quality merchandise, custom finished furniture and prompt delivery service. The owner and general manager was Laurence L. Hess. The store closed in 1959. (T.
