Scope and content
Family of Mrs. Robert E. Hunt, winner of Tacoma contest for Mrs. Typical American Consumer. The Hunt sons, Robert, Gary and Woodrow posed with their father Robert, a foreman at the Port of Tacoma, by the fireplace in the family's north end home on September 24, 1941. They were proud of Mrs. Hunt who had just won a $25 Defense Bond for her winning essay "What the Retail Stores of Tacoma Can Do to Aid the Consumer in this Period of National Emergency." See D11928, image 9 for another view of the family including Mrs. Hunt. (TNT 9-28-1941, 6-B)
