Scope and content

February, 1964, saw continuing construction of the new clubhouse at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club on Gravelly Lake Drive. Workers are in the process of framing the large building while a crane lifts a heavy beam. The Tacoma Country & Golf Club, situated on 237 acres on the shores of American Lake, is the oldest continuing country club west of the Mississippi. Its stately clubhouse was gutted by fire in 1961. Photograph ordered by the Weyerhaeuser Co.
