Scope and content

Exterior of Precision Machine Works, 2101 Pacific Ave. This 11,000 square foot building doubled the floor space found in the firm's older building across the alley. A roof extension joined the new building to the old. The new building was designed by H.V. Krewson & Associates and built by Fisher Construction. It featured concrete block, glue-laminated beams and steel posts. Precision Machine manufactured precision parts for the aerospace industry. At the time of this January, 1966, photograph, Precision Machine was advertising for new machinists to join their company. A neatly lettered sign inviting qualified machinists to apply was posted on the building's exterior, above the designated parking spaces for company officials. (TNT 7-18-65, B-7)
