Scope and content
A large sales staff, including Kathryn Carnino (second woman from right), is ready to greet customers at Weisfield & Goldberg, longtime downtown Tacoma jewelers, in June of 1946. Weisfield & Goldberg Jewelers was well known for having the "Northwest's largest selection of diamonds" and high quality jewelry, but have also carried many other gift items. The store was advertising graduation gift ideas such as manicure sets, watches and pens. Benrus watches starting at $39.75 were for sale as well as 52-piece "Summer Serve" California pottery and crystal for a mere $8.88. "Liberator Mizpah Diamond" banner in background. They also had stores in Portland, Seattle, Bellingham, Bremerton and Spokane. By 1948 Weisfield & Goldberg's name had changed to Weisfield's, Inc. and the firm would expand into the home furnishings field. (Additional identification provided by a reader)
