Prize winning homes on House Beautiful contest, Times, Burt McMurtrie. The home of George G. Franklin took second place in the Tacoma Times House Beautiful contest in 1947. The house had been built in 1905 for Charles H. Hyde, E.A. Wager, architect. The home is surrounded with well maintained lawns and gardens.
