June Catherine Johnson, poet and writer, was visiting Tacoma, promoting her newest book, "12 Books of Verse and 200 Songs." June Catherine Johnson has also written two autobiographical volumes of poems, "Child of the Desert" and "Life's Golden Echoe." Johnson was born in Texas and has lived in Walla Walla, Washington, she is currently living in a secluded area: "Star Dust" cabin retreat, 10 miles from Medford, Oregon. Johnson began writing when she was confined to her bed for eight years, after her school bus was hit by on oncoming train. June Catherine is currently staying with friends in Tacoma (T. Times, 5/8/48, p. 5).
