The Club of Hearts held their annual informal "cotton and cords" dance at Greenwood Manor, 10815 Greendale Drive S.W. in Lakewood, on August 4, 1951. Swimming and dancing began at 8:30 p.m. and continued to 12:30. Swimming was in Steilacoom Lake and dancing was in the old fashioned ballroom at Greenwood Manor. Some of the evening's music was probably provided by the jukebox next to the ballroom fireplace (far right). Ordered by Barbara Schauer. (TNT, 8/4/1951, p.10)
