A rattan serving cart with round ice bucket stands next to the cabinet. A section of a wooden bookcase is shown on the right. Lawrence Hess owned several businesses in Tacoma including L.L. Hess & Son Furniture Co., Resthaven Nursing Home, and was listed as president of the Hess Furniture Bargain Annex, according to the 1953 City Directory.
