The rec room in Lawrence L. Hess' North Stadium Way home appears to have been constructed of natural wood and plywood. View of bar area with footrail; refrigerator and shelves full of glasses. A rattan serving cart with round ice bucket stands next to the cabinet. A section of a wooden bookcase is shown on the right. Lawrence Hess owned several businesses in Tacoma including L.L. Hess & Son Furniture Co., Resthaven Nursing Home, and was listed as president of the Hess Furniture Bargain Annex, according to the 1953 City Directory.
