Scope and content
Third graders move in precision as they dance around the traditional May Pole in 1953 May Day festivities outside the ivy-covered halls of the Annie Wright Seminary. The May Queen, Erin Lombard, and her court and other spectators watch the intricate weaving. It had long been the custom to have the third grade class present the May Pole dance.
