Wedding party listed in Richards records as "Gustie Flemish" and Irene Holz. The party includes two maids of honor, two young female candle lighters, two flowergirls and a young ring bearer. This is believed to be the Holz-Flemish wedding that occurred on June 19, 1940, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Holz with Rev. R.A. Anderson presiding. The beautiful setting consisted of white gladioli, white roses and ivy. The bride wore an ivory satin gown with pearl yoke and a matching pearl coronet in her dark hair. She carried a bouquet of roses and swansonia. Her matron of honor was Mrs. Carroll Hill while Mr. Hill served as the best man. Bridesmaid was Evelyn Freeman. The bride wore a white taffeta gown with leg-o'-mutton sleeves and carried a single orchid surrounded by valley lilies. The new Mrs. Ellett graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Knapps and the Washington Art Institute. She is a member of Beta Phi Kappa national business sorority. Her husband is the son of Senator and Mrs. A.O. Ellett of Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Springville High School in Spanish Fork, Utah and attended the University of Utah. Vivian Weber's wedding party posed in front of the altar at Divine Science church on May 19, 1940. Miss Weber was joined in marriage to Alfred E. Laybourn, Jr. on that Sunday afternoon in ceremonies officiated by Rev. Henry Victor Morgan, who had married the bride's parents 24 years before. The bride wore a white slipper satin gown and carried a large bouquet of lilies of the valley, roses and forget-me-nots. Agnes Smith, in rose taffeta, was her maid of honor and Marylouise Pelle and Madeline Paulson, both in turquiose blue taffeta, were bridesmaids. Allyce Weber was her sister's junior maid of honor. Robert Doubleday was Mr. Laybourn's best man and Richard George, Phillilp Nelson and Corey Knutson served as ushers. Mary Jane Hewitt was the flower girl. The newlyweds' first home was in Tacoma. The bride graduated from the State Teachers College, Mayville, North Dakota while the groom is a Lincoln High School graduate and attended the College of Puget Sound and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The bride wore a two piece dirndle suit of brilliant neon blue, long white gloves, a wheat colored picture hat and a corsage of orchids. Doris E. Wharton and Sgt. Milton G. McAtee of Fort Lewis were married on February 1, 1942 in the loft of the YWCA with Dr. J. Renwick McCullough officiating. The bride, daughter of S.G. Wharton, was a graduate of Clover Park High School. Miss Wharton wore an ivory satin gown, princess style with a sweetheart neckline, and a full length train. Her attendants were dressed similarly and carried small bouquets of flowers. The bride later changed into a blue dress, black fur jacket and blue accessories for her wedding trip. One of the largest weddings photographed by the Richards studio was the marriage of Virginia Lee (Wendy) Wagner to George Hunt Weyerhaeuser; the wedding took place in the gardens of "Lakewold", the Wagner estate.This wedding joined together two nationally known Tacoma families, both in the lumber and timber industries. Virginia Lee is the daughter of Corydon and Eulalie Wagner of the St. Paul and Tacoma Lumber Company (TNT, 7/11/1948, p. 1, D-1).

Bride's portrait of Phyllis Lee Murphy. Phyllis Lee Murphy and Robert Bernard Freeman were married September 11, 1948, at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Walter O. Macoskey performed the services. Phyllis carried her paternal grandmother's handkerchief and wore the engagement ring of gold-set moonstones belonging to her maternal grandmother. Her gown was of white moire with a petal shaped collar and cuffs, both trimed in seed pearls and bugle beads. The full skirt swept into a train. Her veil was edged in lace, cascading from a petaled headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and stephanotis circled with pink rosebuds. Candles and flowers stand to either side of her. Buness-Payne Wedding. 300-400 guests were present at the double ring ceremony uniting Evelyn Lorraine Buness and Clinton Dwight Payne on June 18, 1948. The evening nuptials were held at Bethesda Baptist Church and officiated by the Rev. Marion Flint. Louise Buness, the bride's sister, was her maid-of-honor and the groom's brother, Bud, was his best man. The bride wore a floor-length ivory satin gown with beadwork on the front. Her bouquet had a large orchid and stephanotis. Evelyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Buness and Clinton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Payne. The couple both attended Lincoln High School. After their wedding trip to California and (New) Mexico, they planned to make their home at 7048 South Fawcett in Tacoma. Anderson and Niebergall wedding. The former Mary Joan Anderson shows her leg garter to her bridesmaids and flower girls on her wedding day. This pose was typical of photographers' wedding coverage during the 1950s. The groom often tossed the bride's garter to single men after the ceremony.
