A style show featuring a bride's trousseau occurred at the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club during the time of the annual Delta Delta Delta Pansy Ring Tea in May, 1954. Models portraying the bridal party stand in front of the Ring of flowers. Both attendants and the bride carry wreaths of flowers, perhaps dahlias, to correspond with the circular theme. Mrs. Paul Whitcomb, the former Janet Erickson, models a wedding gown with flowing train. Mrs. Whitcomb was the former 1953 chapter president of Delta Delta Delta. Her groom in the photograph is Warren Hunt of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Mr. Hunt is a graduating senior from Puyallup, a business administration major, and former student body president. The twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Green, Marlene and Darlene Green, were married in a joint wedding ceremony at the Little Church on the Prairie, 6310 Motor Ave. S.W. in Lakewood, on August 11, 1954, their birthday. The two brides posed side-by-side in identical wedding gowns in front of the church altar. Both are wearing gowns heavily decorated in lace and satin covered with net. They appear to be carrying stephanotis bouquets and they have matching pearl necklaces. Marlene Green married Claude Flansburg while Darlene wed William Melville. Mrs. Taylor is the former Mamie Elizabeth Strickland, daughter of the Grady A. Stricklands. The bride wore a pearl white satin gown with long pointed sleeves and a gently scooped neckline. Wedding portrait of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Vert. The former Elizabeth Claire Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Smith, was married June 3, 1938 to W. Edward Vert at the Christ Episcopal Church. The bride wore a two piece dirndle suit of brilliant neon blue, long white gloves, a wheat colored picture hat and a corsage of orchids. The afternoon wedding ceremony and reception held later at the Smith home on No. Sheridan Ave. were attended by relatives and close friends. The happy couple will make their first home in Yakima. (T. Bridesmaids, in no particular order, were Peggy Carper, Barbara Haggard, Mrs. Carl Straight, Mrs. Joe Livengood, Louise Lyford and Mrs. Nelson Bennett. The bride's four year old niece, Loyal Nordstrom, was the flower girl. Edwin Davis was the Best Man.
