ca. 1979. 1979 Photograph of the west side of the 1300 block of Pacific. The buildings are, left to right, the David Levin building, 1312 Pacific (built 1908, demolished,) the Samuel Wolf building, 1310 Pacific (built 1889, demolished,) the Baker building, 1306-08 Pacific (built 1889, demolished,) and the Luzon Building, 1302-04 Pacific. In 1979, the Luzon Building was home to the Fun Circus and prior to that, the Chopsticks restaurant. It was built in 1890 and is on the City, State and National registry. It was designed by Burnham & Root, architects. The building has been vacant since 1986 and its future has not been decided.

ca. 1979. In 1979, people were not very welcome at this hotel; the doors were padlocked. The Welcome Hotel is believed to have been located in the Dillon & Fisher Building, 1330-32 Pacific Ave. It was demolished around 1986 in Tacoma's attempt to clean up lower Pacific Ave.
