Printed on back: North Fort Lewis, Washington. This late-afternoon telephoto view shows some of the barracks, parade field and their eternal guardian, Mt. Rainier, 60 miles to the east. These barracks will house some of the troops of the Viet Nam War.

• Printed on back: Viking Room, Tacoma Hotel. The scheme of decoration throughout the hotel is of a decidedly marine character. The main dining room, which is magnificently equipped, is called the "Viking Room," deriving its name from the painted frieze around the walls. Tacoma Hotel was erected in 1884, and enlarged and remodeled in 1905.

Printed on back: Monumental Main Gate Fort Lewis, Washington This historic land mark was first constructed as the last main gate in 1917 using money and labor donated by the workers who built original Camp Lewis. It was moved to its present location in 1957 to make room for super highway expansion.

• Built in 1889 at 902-14 Broadway, this was known as the Music Box Theater from February 1933 until April 1963 when it was destroyed by fire. circa 1908.

• Lincoln Park High School was built in 1913 and was open for the first day of classes on August 31, 1914. The name was changed to Lincoln High School in 1917. Columbia Avenue is now South 37th street. circa 1916.

• The Mason Methodist Church, 4008 No. 28th St., was built in 1910 and demolished c. 1970. It was named in honor of Allen C. Mason. circa 1915.

• Built as the Fife Hotel on the Fife Block in 1887, it was completely remodeled and opened as the Donnelly Hotel in 1898. The building was demolished in 1925. circa 1920.

• This Aquinas Academy, built in 1899 at 1112 No. "G" St., was demolished in phases in 1930 and 1955. A new building was built on site.

• Allen C. Mason built this beautiful mansion in 1892, then lost it in the financial panic of 1893. It was part of the Whitworth College until their move east to Spokane in 1913. In 1920, John P. Weyerhaeuser had this and the other college buildings razed, and built Haddaway Hall, which still stands on the site. circa 1909.

• Built in 1906 at 1101 "A" Street, the Perkins Building was considered the first fire proof structure in Tacoma. The building was home to the first University of Washington Tacoma students. circa 1910.
