Northwest Indian News was a newspaper published out of Seattle, Washington that reported on local, regional, and national tribal news. Updates about the Fishing Wars of the Puget Sound region and the legal battle of the Boldt Decision were frequent topics. Other topics of interest include editorials on the American Indian Movement (A.I.M.) and articles about Native children within the foster care system.

Lost Tacoma Project Collection

The "Lost Tacoma" project was originally designed and conceived by archivist Jeanie Fisher. It includes blueprints and technical drawings of both proposed buildings in Tacoma which were never constructed and constructed buildings which are now demolished. This is a partial representation of the Lost Tacoma collection, constituting 116 of the total 560 blueprints across 26 locations. Digitization for this project was supported by a 2016 Pierce County Historic Preservation Grant.

Along with issues of Miller's "Bayou La Rose" newspaper, the Arthur J Miller Papers features published documents from the Northwest Leonard Peltier Support Network, issues of Native Resistance News and the Survival Network Newsletter, photos from rallies in support of clemency for Peltier, rally and march flyers, VHS video of rallies, and writing by Miller.

Includes correspondence, journals, financial papers, legal papers, printed materials and ephemera, photos and maps. Correspondence consists of both personal and business-related letters (1873-1911). Journal entries provide twenty-two years worth of short accounts of daily farm life, and occasionally mention other early Steilacoom pioneers (1868-1912). Financial papers include tax receipts (1866-1930), handwritten and printed receipts (1861-1931), a checkbook (1861-1862), and small account books recording work, expenses, and brief journal entries (1862-1910). Legal documents include land contracts and descriptions, and court documents relating to the estate of J.W. Roberts (1911-1915). Printed materials and ephemera include a variety of items such as business cards, pamphlets, and menus (undated), and newspaper clippings (1895, 1913-1914). A small series of photos are mostly undated and unidentified. There are also two undated handwritten maps of the Spanaway area.
