Northwest Indian News was a newspaper published out of Seattle, Washington that reported on local, regional, and national tribal news. Updates about the Fishing Wars of the Puget Sound region and the legal battle of the Boldt Decision were frequent topics. Other topics of interest include editorials on the American Indian Movement (A.I.M.) and articles about Native children within the foster care system.

Includes extensive correspondence between Johnston and colleagues, citizens, and agencies/corporations. Additionally, the Gordon Johnston Papers contain agendas and reports from the Puget Sound Governmental Conference (later the Puget Sound Council of Governments), and the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency. Also included are city reports and financial documents, including expenditure reports and Annual Budget reports.

The Jacki Skaught Papers cover the years 1980-2005. The records are divided into five series specifically concerning Jacki Skaught’s role with the Jury and the City of Tacoma: Tacoma Dome Jury of Recommendation Committee Member , Tacoma Dome Reconvened Jury Member, Tacoma Dome Continued Involvement, Other City of Tacoma Positions, and miscellaneous ephemera and memorabilia.

The "Lost Tacoma" project was originally designed and conceived by archivist Jeanie Fisher. It includes blueprints and technical drawings of both proposed buildings in Tacoma which were never constructed and constructed buildings which are now demolished. This is a partial representation of the Lost Tacoma collection, constituting 116 of the total 560 blueprints across 26 locations. Digitization for this project was supported by a 2016 Pierce County Historic Preservation Grant.

Includes event programs and schedules from local women's study clubs. The study clubs organized guest lectures and reading groups on a wide variety of topics including art, culture, language, and politics.

Includes documentation related to Miller's work advocating for the clemency and release of Leonard Peltier, an American Indian Movement activist of Lakota descent who was imprisoned in 1976 following the 1975 shootout at Pine Ridge Reservation, which left two F.B.I. agents dead. Along with issues of Miller's "Bayou La Rose" newspaper, the Arthur J Miller Papers features published documents from the Northwest Leonard Peltier Support Network, issues of Native Resistance News and the Survival Network Newsletter, photos from rallies in support of clemency for Peltier, rally and march flyers, VHS video of rallies, and writing by Miller.

Topics covered in the papers include the South African Apartheid, the War in Iraq, the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, the Occupy Wall Street movement, the death penalty, foreclosures following the 2008 financial crisis, and others. Also included are correspondence, audiovisual material, and handbook and instructions related to activism.

Includes correspondence, journals, financial papers, legal papers, printed materials and ephemera, photos and maps. Correspondence consists of both personal and business-related letters (1873-1911). Journal entries provide twenty-two years worth of short accounts of daily farm life, and occasionally mention other early Steilacoom pioneers (1868-1912). Financial papers include tax receipts (1866-1930), handwritten and printed receipts (1861-1931), a checkbook (1861-1862), and small account books recording work, expenses, and brief journal entries (1862-1910). Legal documents include land contracts and descriptions, and court documents relating to the estate of J.W. Roberts (1911-1915). Printed materials and ephemera include a variety of items such as business cards, pamphlets, and menus (undated), and newspaper clippings (1895, 1913-1914). A small series of photos are mostly undated and unidentified. There are also two undated handwritten maps of the Spanaway area.

Includes articles of incorporation, correspondence, minutes of the Board of Trustees, Board of Directors, stockholders, and other committees, financial records including ledgers and stock registers, legal documents including deeds and resolutions, and reports to stockholders.

These copies of the 1945 and 1946 Esquire's Jazz Book, published by Smith & Durrell, Inc. were owned by Marjorie Jane Windus during her time she worked in the Chicago Illinois Blue Note Jazz Club, from the 1940s and early 1950s. These books include autographs and messages from many prominent and lesser-known jazz musicians and singers from that time.

Includes business ledgers containing financial information, store inventories, and other information about the operations of the Cow Butter Store. These ledgers also contain a wide range of enclosed material including correspondence, newspaper clippings, writings, and ephemera.
