The Multnomah Hotel in Portland, Oregon opened in 1912, and closed operations as a hotel in 1963. Used as government offices until 1996, it has been restored and is now again in business as a hotel. circa 1920.

This spectacular lake, sixty miles long, occupies a U shaped valley which extends northwest to southeast through Chelan County. One of Washington's scenic wonderlands, this glacier formed body of water has a maximum depth of 1,419 feet which is 340 ft. below sea level. Chelan is the modification of an Indian word meaning "deep water."The community of Chelan is at the south end of Lake Chelan west of the Columbia River in east central Chelan County. Chelan was incorporated May 7, 1902. circa 1910.

Advertisment for a new type of bread, featuring "Little Miss Sunbeam," being debuted by the Jordan Baking Company of Tacoma. "Sunbeam Bread was an achievement of many years experimentation to produce a truly superior loaf of bread," according to Arthur K. Jordan, owner of the bakery. The new wrapper design was executed in a light blue and white with a floral border and a picture of the girl eating a slice of bread and butter. circa 1933.

The name Wenatchee is from the Indian word, which was We-na-tcha or We-na-tchi, meaning "river issuing from a canyon." In 1805, Lewis and Clark used the word Wahnahchee in referring to this location. The name has been adopted for other geographical features on the east side of the Cascade Mountains in north central Washington State. Wenatchee is a city on the Columbia River at the mouth of the Wenatchee River in southeast Chelan County. It is a fruit growing center, and was incorporated January 7, 1893. circa 1962.
Olga is a community on the east shore of East Sound at the head of Buck Bay on southwest Orcas Island in east central San Juan County. The name was adopted on March 3, 1890 when a post office was established. A local businessman suggested the name of his mother in Germany and it was adopted. circa 1955.

McKenzie Pass is a mountain pass in the Cascade Range in central Oregon, United States. It is located at the common border of Linn, Lane, and Deschutes counties, approximately 20 miles northwest of Bend, between the Three Sisters to the south and Mt. Washington to the north. circa 1946.

The 178 foot high, 15 foot wide Horsetail Falls plunges down a cliff on the northwest side of Larch Mountain in the shape of a giant, white horsetail. Water flows over the falls throughout the entire year. circa 1951.
In the middle 19th century, the Blue Mountains were a formidable obstacle on the Oregon Trail and was often the last mountain range pioneers had to cross before reaching either southeast Washington near Walla Walla or passing down the Columbia River Gorge to end of the Oregon Trail in the Willamette Valley near Oregon City. circa 1930.
