ca. 1950. A "Shop K St." neon advertisement looms above Paulson's at the corner of South 11th Street and K Street (now Martin Luther King, Jr. Way). K Street business owners and boosters used the neon sign to draw attention and customers to their district, one of Tacoma's largest neighborhood shopping areas in the '50s. Next to Paulson's is the Federal Bakery, owned by the MacPherson family and operating at this location since 1889. Paulson's, the Federal Bakery and other stores in the block were razed in 1998 to make way for a new Rite Aid store. TPL-6276
