Scope and content
Candy making at Brown and Haley in September of 1921. The female workers are dressed in spotless white dresses, some with matching hats, but no gloves. They are working with the candy with their bare hands. The women in the back are possibly either wrapping medium size tubes of a harder candy, such as toffee or caramel, or unwrapping them and slicing them into nougats. The woman in the front is dipping something into a stainless steel pot beside her. A fan on the left cools her work. The chocolate covered candies to the right are possibly the finished product.
