Democratic congressional candidate Eugene Wiegman (L), 46, checks out blueprints on the PLU campus with two unidentified workers in May of 1976. He was a candidate for the 6th District post held by Floyd Hicks; Representative Hicks had decided not to run for re-election. Dr. Wiegman was a former president of Pacific Lutheran University, later became pastor of Luther Memorial Church, and served on several community boards.
