40-foot wheelhouse control console located aboard the $50 million dollar Western Offshore No. IX, a newly built self-propelled drillship moored in 1977 at the Port of Tacoma's Pier 24. Equipment manufactured by Martin-Decker Co., Santa Ana, CA. There was a helipad on top the wheelhouse for a helicopter to whisk personnel to and from shore.
