The wedding party poses for formal pictures. Mrs. Lloyd Nordstrom served as her sister's Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids, in no particular order, were Peggy Carper, Barbara Haggard, Mrs. Carl Straight, Mrs. Joe Livengood, Louise Lyford and Mrs. Nelson Bennett. The bride's four year old niece, Loyal Nordstrom, was the flower girl. Edwin Davis was the Best Man. Doris E. Wharton and Sgt. Milton G. McAtee of Fort Lewis were married on February 1, 1942 in the loft of the YWCA with Dr. J. Renwick McCullough officiating. The bride, daughter of S.G. Wharton, was a graduate of Clover Park High School. Miss Wharton wore an ivory satin gown, princess style with a sweetheart neckline, and a full length train. Her attendants were dressed similarly and carried small bouquets of flowers. The bride later changed into a blue dress, black fur jacket and blue accessories for her wedding trip. Merrilee Longstreth was marrying Roland Day, their wedding reception would be at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club. One of the largest weddings photographed by the Richards studio was the marriage of Virginia Lee (Wendy) Wagner to George Hunt Weyerhaeuser; the wedding took place in the gardens of "Lakewold", the Wagner estate.This wedding joined together two nationally known Tacoma families, both in the lumber and timber industries. Virginia Lee is the daughter of Corydon and Eulalie Wagner of the St. Paul and Tacoma Lumber Company (TNT, 7/11/1948, p. 1, D-1).

Bride's portrait of Phyllis Lee Murphy. Phyllis Lee Murphy and Robert Bernard Freeman were married September 11, 1948, at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Walter O. Macoskey performed the services. Phyllis carried her paternal grandmother's handkerchief and wore the engagement ring of gold-set moonstones belonging to her maternal grandmother. Her gown was of white moire with a petal shaped collar and cuffs, both trimed in seed pearls and bugle beads. The full skirt swept into a train. Her veil was edged in lace, cascading from a petaled headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and stephanotis circled with pink rosebuds. Candles and flowers stand to either side of her. Buness-Payne Wedding. 300-400 guests were present at the double ring ceremony uniting Evelyn Lorraine Buness and Clinton Dwight Payne on June 18, 1948. The evening nuptials were held at Bethesda Baptist Church and officiated by the Rev. Marion Flint. Louise Buness, the bride's sister, was her maid-of-honor and the groom's brother, Bud, was his best man. The bride wore a floor-length ivory satin gown with beadwork on the front. Her bouquet had a large orchid and stephanotis. Evelyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Buness and Clinton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Payne. The couple both attended Lincoln High School. After their wedding trip to California and (New) Mexico, they planned to make their home at 7048 South Fawcett in Tacoma. Tiny lace-covered buttons extended to the high neckline with a satin collar. The long sleeves had satin cuffs. The bride wore a ballerina length ice blue gown with lace over net and crepe and a veil of ice blue tulle attached to a headpiece of orange blossoms. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Brown and the groom was the son of Charles Thorleifson of Seattle. The bride was a graduate of Kapowsin High and PLC, where she was the President of Delta Rho Gamma. The groom was a graduate of Ballard High and PLC, where he belonged to the dramatics honor society Alpha Psi Omega. The couple made their first home in Seattle and both were teachers in Shoreline. Lockwood-Boyle wedding. Carol-Lu Wesson Lockwood and Donald James Boyle were joined in holy matrimony in a morning ceremony at St. John of the Woods Church on November 17, 1951. This was a very large wedding with ten attendants in addition to two flower girls and two ring-bearers. The bride wore her mother's cream colored satin wedding gown. Her veil was bordered with Chantilly lace and fastened onto a pearl and silver beaded tiara. The bride and groom honeymooned in California and Mexico. (TNT 12-15-51, p. 5)

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Dezellem of Bridgeport and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Pease of Tacoma. The couple was married by Reverend Bessie Pease, the aunt of the bridegroom. The bride wore ivory brocaded satin with a full train, bustle back and a net yoke trimmed in lace. The veil was of white marquisette trimmed with large lace flowers and fastened to a cap of small seed pearls. The bouquet was of cream colored ophelia in a diamond shape, fashioned after the bride's Alpha Delta Pi sorority pin with a trailing chain of stephanotis. The maid of honor wore lime green marquisette with satin piping on the bodice and a Dutch cap. The bridesmaids wore yellow and the flower girls orchid. The 150 guests were invited to the reception in the church parlors. The couple made their first home in Cleveland, Ohio. (TNT 7/1/1951, pg. D-7)
