Three gasoline pumps stand in the front of the one story building. A two-door automobile is parked next door. Dravis Service Station was located at 5602 South Park Avenue. Valley Forge Service Station, believed to be located in Fife. The service station offered Standard Oil products and did automobile repairs. According to additional information provided by a reader, the Valley Forge was believed to have been located near the intersection of Hwy 99 and 54th Ave., across the street and east of the Poodle Dog Restaurant. The Oakwood Dairy, whose delivery truck is parked outside the service station, was located near the intersection of 54th Ave. and 20th St. (Milton Ave.) at the time of this September, 1945, photograph.

Camp Francis, an automobile court between Tacoma and Seattle on the Seattle Highway (99). Camp Francis offered cabins for rent, as well as gasoline and Standard Oil products.

The Standard Oil gas station located at the Camp Tahoma Auto Camp cabins, 3836 South Tacoma Way. Camp Tahoma, owned by Frank and B.J. Winkes, offered the driving public an alternative to staying in a hotel. The auto camp was demolished around 1966 to make way for Gill Lincoln Mercury.

In 1945, Daley's Garage occupied part of the ground floor of 1411-17 Pacific Ave, the home of the Schoenfeld annex and Bargain Loft. Schoenfelds had expanded into this site around 1940. Daley's Garage, owned by John J and John M Daley, offered the consumer a place to park and also gas up. The actual street address for the garage was 1415 Pacific Ave.

The Standard Oil gas station located at the Camp Tahoma Auto Camp cabins, 3836 South Tacoma Way. The station is glass on all four sides, with venting widows that open at the top. Camp Tahoma's cabins, owned by Frank and B.J. Winkes, offered the driving public an alternative to staying in a hotel. The auto camp was demolished around 1966 to make way for Gill Lincoln Mercury.

J. Thomas Standard Oil Service Station. Owned by Joseph & Loretta Thomas. Located at 27th and West Grandview in University Place. A woman is standing by the gasoline pumps and two automobiles are also shown. TPL-3399.

This is the Valley Forge Service Station as viewed in September of 1945. It was located in Fife, at the SW corner of the intersection of Hwy 99 and 54th Ave., directly east of Andre's Market and across the highway from the Poodle Dog restaurant. The service station offered Standard Oil products and did automobile repairs. Its owners were Henry and Francis Hubbert. The service station was destroyed by fire circa 1948 or 1949. After the fire the service station at the NE corner of the intersection became known as the Valley Forge once the Hubbert's station was no longer in existence. Frank and Richard Spear and another unidentified person would manage the new Valley Forge. (Additional information provided by a reader).

The One-Stop Market, which also had gasoline pumps, was photographed in September of 1945. The owners' names are printed on the building, Williams and Schrader, but the address is unknown. Signs for Coca-Cola and 7up ("It Likes You") adorn the roof of the covered pumping area.
