Harris, B.J. III
Benjamin Harris III was sentenced to death in 1984 for the shooting of Tacoma auto mechanic Jimmy Lee Turner. Harris was exonerated in 1997 and became the first death-row inmate released from prison in Washington state since the state reinstated the death penalty in 1981.

The Eastside Community Pool opened after three years and numerous grants. The pool is attached to the north side of Gault Junior High School across from the new gymnasium.
