ca. 1934. Brennen King, College of Puget Sound football player. Mr. King played right end position on the 1934-35 CPS team. The 6 '2" King was a graduate of Garfield High in Seattle. The CPS baseball team had been a formidable opponent in 1926, but lost three of its players to graduation, including the pitcher. The team was rebuilding in 1927. Dr. Edward H. Todd, president of the College of Puget Sound, sits at his roll top desk studying papers. Dr. Todd was the President of CPS for 29 years, from 1913- 1942. The men's dormitory was named after Dr. Todd when it was built in 1948.

ca. 1927. College of Puget Sound Football, first team, circa 1927. Twenty-six players and two coaches sitting on bleachers. In 1927, the College of Puget Sound had only one athletic director and he coached all the sports teams. Clyde Wesley Hubbard was new, having arrived at the college in 1926, but he pushed his team to finish second in the conference. He was assisted by former Logger star Lynn Wright and A.A. Denman. Eleven girls in sweaters with a spur logo and knee length skirts plus their sponsor pose on the steps of a campus building. Spurs, a non profit service club, had been on the campus since 1925. College of Puget Sound Committee for dedication of new Women's Residence Hall listening to Adelphian Choral Society under direction of John Paul Bennett. Anderson Hall, built at a cost of $75,000 to house 40 women, was formally dedicated on February 15, 1939. First meal in new womens' residence hall, College of Puget Sound. Nine of 40 women to live in new quarters gather at table with Carolyn Schneider, housemother, and Dr. and Mrs. Edward Todd, college president. The new hall, named Anderson Hall, was built for $75,000. It would be formally dedicated on February 15, 1939. Names of students are listed in the Tacoma Times article dated February 2, 1939. (T. The college would be giving 87 degrees at its 50th graduation exercise. The college had stated earlier that pressing business conditions would make it hard for 1938 graduates to find steady employment. Those going into teaching would have the easiest time finding positions; chemistry majors would have the hardest. Young men from the College of Puget Sound razz a fellow classmate during the first annual C.P.S. picnic held on April 28, 1938. Classes were dismissed early and students poured out on to the grounds to enjoy the annual freshman vs. sophomore tug-of-war, as well as two hours of games. Following a luncheon served by SPURS, the women's service organization, there was a mass community sing and two hours of dancing. (T. Times 4/29/1938, p. 1).

College students pile into an old jalopy on their way to the College of Puget Sound's first annual C.P.S. picnic. The topless automobile with spoke wheels is being cranked by one of the students. CPS students and faculty took the afternoon off April 28, 1938 to stage their first annual picnic on campus. Classes were dismissed at 2:30p.m. and were replaced with a tug-of-war, softball, volleyball, horseshoes, lunch, a community sing and dancing under the stars. (T. Times, 4/29/1938, p. 1)
