Mayor Oscar Mills of Chehalis admires the key to the City of Tacoma presented to him on June 8, 1968, the day of the PG-94 gunboat Chehalis' launching. The woman holding the plaque is believed to be Mrs. Mills, wife of the mayor, who had the honor of christening the ship. Mayor Mills was a member of Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker's WWI pursuit squadron and gave the principal address at the launching. The Navy patrol gunboat, ninth in a series, was built by Tacoma Boatbuilding. Photograph ordered by Tacoma Boat Building Co. (TNT 6-2-68, A-19, TNT 6-9-68, A-24)
